    If dreams were wishes,
    And wishes came true
    My nights would be filled
    With dreams of you.
    If smiles were certain
    And tongues could not lie,
    I would understand you
When I look into your eyes
    If words were undeniable
    And sentiments were real
I could hear what you’re saying to me
    And understand how you feel.
If I could trust my heart
    And you were true
    I could put inhibitions aside
    And open up to you.
    If good things happened
Every time I wished on a star
    I could be happy
    I’d be where you are.
If the world was not so cruel
I could love you as I should.
    If everyone accepted God
Everything would be for the good.
If the sun would always shine,
And the moon would always glow
And you could always look at the stars
And the people you love would never go
    If thunder wasn’t so loud,
And you could touch the sky,
And dreams would always come true
    And flowers would never die
If the people you loved stayed with you
    And would never ever leave
    If people weren’t so selfish
And could give rather than receive.
    If everything was perfect
    And no one ever lied
And I could always love you
    And people never died
Then I could understand my heart
    And I could love you
And the stars would always shine
And all my dreams would come true.
