    dotsThe Nightdots
    -------------------------------------------

    Last night wasn't like tonight
And tonight isn't like last night
    The stars aren't as bright
But the clouds make it just right

In the night I shiver from the cold
The lingering breeze through my open window
A night for someone to hold
As I lay my head on my pillow

Dark outside, silence throughout my town
Just the lights, cars, just a beautiful sight
Waiting for an adventure, in the night.

Oh how I relate to this poem. You’ve described so many of my sleepless nights so perfectly! I hope that was your goal.

I was also reading through your Red Rain series and couldn’t help but laugh when I saw they started with waking up from a nights rest. I began to wonder if perhaps we shouldn’t just wait for adventure after-all.

You’re poem employs simple language to paint a serene picture. However, provides little more depth to understanding the human experience. That isn’t exactly wrong, as long as it was intentional. Was it?
