Another night after the next, she'll lay her head down on his chest. "Promise me you'll stay and won't leave me like the rest." She wants to say it but the words just won't come up. When the words are finally at the tip of her tongue, he looks at his watch and says "Well it's been fun." She catches the usual hint, and puts on her clothes. And that's how the story goes. Night after night, she'll stop by. Guy after guy, he'll make her cry. He allows her to stay, to give him pleasure and add to her pain. Why does it have to be this way? Well it all started when she was 15 years old, she was passed around the neighborhood boys as if she was an animal or some kind of toy. She was took advantage of. They broke her heart and took away her self-respect until she had nothing left. She just wants to be loved. But just like the last night, she puts on her heels and swallows the tears. Just like she has for these past years. Her mind filled with the guilt of sin. Will she ever be able to love again? |
the pain is so clear but life can be that way in many ways i wouldn't change this a bit your message got through quick and straight to point | Posted on 2013-04-16 00:00:00 | by littlepoet | [ Reply to This ] | How lonely. But you portray it so well! The title alone gives off a little poetic irony. I can see that you really care for this person and I hope for the best for her. | | Posted on 2013-04-06 00:00:00 | by Priestess | [ Reply to This ] | |
