    -------------------------------------------

    She stands alone
    against the infinite blue
    a single flake of gold
with ruby tipped toes in the sand.

That I might be the wind
caressing her, toying with her hair
that I might be the sand
to hold her, to carry her across the shore

    But I am the ocean
    forever reaching out
    forever longing
    yearning for but a touch.

    The incoming tide
within my heart (ice cold from neglect),
    while it cannot be stopped,
can only go so far to meet her.

    And my approach
    that incoming tide
must signal the end of some cycle
    thus yet hidden to me;

For when I reach for her,
when I long to touch her skin
she draws back, watches the sun
    set on my horizon

    And vanishes into the night.

Be kind, take a few minutes to review the hard work of others <3
It means a lot to them, as it does to you.
