    -------------------------------------------

The doubt of a life unfullfilled by love,
hangs like a string off a puppetiers hands.
    Dancing about the stage
    bringing laughter to its audience.
But when the curtains are drawn,
    the show at its end,
    what sadness comes upon them.
For their lives are back to reality.
Nothing left to consume their thoughts.
They look upon eachother in confusion.
A lustfilled look once had, now gone.
    The practice seemed such fun,
    the production a masterpiece.
But living after all is said and done,
    leaves them in tragedy.
    Their fellow cast lie still
    in their masters hands.
    They know their place,
for they are not the stars.
    Or are they?
For the show had only begun
    with the making of them.
    But does thats still mean
    they must continue past retirement?
    Tired and torn, their eyes
    no longer glimmer.
    Simple polishing is behind them.
    They enjoy bringing joy,
    but at what cost?
    Will their fellow puppets
    not prosper without them?
    Given a chance to star
    in their own show.
    Free of strings
    that attach them.
