I wrote this one day while being inspired after looking at my sleeping cat, Bella.

    dotsKitty Dreamsdots

    Little striped and green-eyed cat
    slightly gray, a little fat
    settled, napping upside down
    on my favorite silken gown.

    On a sunny summer day
in a pool of gold you lay
eyes shut fast, you eat whipped creams
    in your little kitty dreams.

    Tufty tummy all exposed
    piercing yellow-green eyes closed
you eat the catnip till it's gone
and prance and play the whole day long.

Wings of birds and tails of mice
    fill your kitty paradise
you catch, at last, the laser beam
    in your little kitty dream.

You swipe a fish that silver gleams
in a small and playful stream
and walk upon the trellis beams
    in your little kitty dreams.

This is quite good. It is playful and spry. It is a good read for children. Imaginative and bright. You sustained the rhyming well, although the rhythm is a bit off in some places. I read it aloud and it's overall a good piece.

I have to agree with Bruce even though I don't own a cat. His is quite pretty from the picture I actually saved of it.

And it Rhymes! - What a wonderful idea for a poem. ;)

This is wonderful! It made my day. I'm looking forward to making kitty food today and it's a 5 hr chore, this makes it seem like so much less work. Thanks....
