Well what do you think it means? I don't like to give away what the piece is about. I enjoy seeing those who figure it out. Plus it's more fun to ponder things and come to your own conclusions, remember each of us take away something different.

    It ran out.

    Cold, taxing; exasperating.

Collapsing upon itself, a skeletal revenant climbed from what was once supposed to be,
    brilliant wearing the crown.
    Heritage decays,
into a curse- Lingering litigious wraiths.
    Wringing; winding-
    Wrongfully woeful; regrettably untimely.
Serving your head on a silver plate.
    Gift of oblation,
    salvation betrayed by itself.
    Frozen in Cocytus,
a mirror reflecting the tormented self-
    Pound of flesh-
    Pound of silver-

I also liked the use of alliteration here, the dark tone. Feels like currency and greed and decay.

    Heritage decays
    Into a curse

I really liked the timeless message in those lines. Its something i have noticed in my own family as I have grown, watching lo ed ones pass away and and the rest of the family fight violently over what is left behind. You described something quite personal to me yet common these days.

So much lovely alliteration with all the "w" sounds in the middle. I'm always a big fan of squeezing it in as much as possible :). "lingering litigious" is also nice.

Pound of flesh, pound of silver! What a strong and dark poem filled with many solemn things. I enjoy your short flow because it makes all of the words easier to chew. I haven't read dark poetry like this in a long time. I think you definitely stuck to the theme and it paid off all the way through.
