    -------------------------------------------

    A place in my heart
Is set aside just for you
    But you bashed it away
    Like trash
    Like a rat
Like it was nothing to you
So why am I still sitting here?
Sitting at your feet like a dog begging for scraps
Whimpering, "please love me" over and over and over again.
Maybe it's that tiny spark of hope
That is in the empty place in my heart
That is trying to reach out,
    To expand,
    To grow.
To mutate until it is a beautiful flame shining over our love.
And then, that empty place in my heart?
    It won't be empty anymore.
