    The model Immigrant

    3000 miles in the back of a Datsun.
    You can try but you'll never stop us.
    We're coming back to the land you stole.
    the people of the sun,
    fueled by hope
    Squeezed off our land to your South
    Colonized beyond
    We come without doubts
    America will be a better life
    America IS the promised land
    The America we came from is green and beautiful, jungles and hills and a spiritual reality you can’t understand until you feel the humid air of a Mesoamerican morning
    An unseen force is making it so we can’t live there anymore
    We crossed the frontier with no papers,
    We’re still coming in spite of your hatred.
    A forgotten tale from our ancestors.
    A culture replaced with industrial bosses and slave masters,
    A complacent lifestyle of reality T.V. and racketeering dreams,
    A landscape cracking under it’s own weight unable to solve the crisis of machines replacing human beings
    From the inland empire to the central Valley, from Northridge to South Central alleys, from East Los to the suburbs, from sea to shining sea
    There are people living paycheck to paycheck
    Never far away from the pavement
    Realizing the American dream of survival of the fittest
    Now means survival at any means
    Living a reality where even the fit don’t survive anymore
    No time to reflect
    No moment to breathe, to build, to change
    How did we end up in this place?
    A culture thrown away in exchange
    For a Frappucino and a cell phone bill
    Paid for with credit cards provided by a banks that speculate on more new arrivals, wars, oil whatever will create the basis for increasingly absurd economic projections
    Still, we pour in day after day in search of the dream
    A dream increasingly only for those skilled in cutthroat enterprises.
    Those who reject wage slave exercises.
    A dream that has no basis when the privileged are losing their status and the scraps grow more and more meager
    Barely above water
    Breaking neck and soul,
    Children become cannon fodder
    Thanks for the stripmalls, highways and wall street bankers.
    Thanks for making ancestral lands staging grounds for death squads and imperialist governments.
    Thanks for stealing our resources and making us slaves on our own land to provide for your lifestyle
    At least, 500 years later, you have the common courtesy to offer us the opportunity to work ourselves to death in the mess you made, now that your mess isn’t profitable anymore
    Thanks America for providing me the opportunity to be born to parents who had their cultures and souls robbed by the cancer of industry and capitalism
    I will sing the praises of this culture even louder, nowadays when I watch fair skinned working class chumps struggling and blaming my parents for their problems.
    Losing a battle before we born
    The time is NOW! To understand what is really going on
    With the economy, with society and yes with the entire population of humanity
    It is time to declare
    We are sick of your borders
    and your endless wars
    We will not take this anymore!
    We had a sustainable way of life once
    This is a call for all people to join together
    And aim for the truth
    In the wake of environmental and economic collapse,
    We need to fight if can ever know love or harmony for ourselves or the next generation
    It is time to confront those that deny the right to breathe
    With backwards ideas of how the world thinks
    It is time to embrace the change so we can make industry work for people and not the other way around.
    Lest we dance in the ashes of civilization
    The border, constant wars, and the dividing forces of patriotism
    Will come down
