miss gillian, why do you have to go to every party on the river?

well, because i am single, i don't have kids, and it's a chance to see my friends.

how about this time you just don't go?

livvy, i already made plans to go.

just don't go this time. just don't go.
i'll give you ten minutes to think about it. k?

    (three minutes later)

miss gillian, you are my friend. you are the nicest person i know. you aren't mean to me. ever.

that's not true livvy. i am mean to you sometimes.

well yea, sometimes. but you are the nicest person i know. and i am sick. and my dad is boring. and i just want you to stay and help pick out colors for my birdhouse and watch bolt with me.

(meanwhile, you shoulda seen how her eyes disassembled my heart).

i go home. brush my teeth. grab some butts. take my coat. tina is ready when i walk in the door.

and livvy just looks at me.

i try to find the words to say no.

she starts to plead. bottom lip's quivering. and. and.

    i start crying.

    she jumps into my arms.

tina is looking at brian like wtf already. (neither of them knew how she had been breaking me down for better than an hour).

1/2 an hour. i'll give ya 1/2 an hour.

    okay miss gillian. okay.
and takes hold of my hand.

I've learned not to like children. It took a while, but I finally did it. They are the only thing that can break a spirit and crush a soul, and therefore are the most dangerous drug you can touch. I no longer consider them even human, until their eyes have dulled.

I remember this one from your journal...the warmth in this one is so innocent and soothing G! Honest...a warm hug and tenderness that young ones give so freely and unconditionally. Them eyes and the way just a sigh or a looks can meltcha right there on the spot! Not even a thought of saying no...just go with there youthful flow...and grow a little more each time from it✨💛✨
    (warmest smiles in reflection here)

Thank You for sharing it all with us, always!
