    -------------------------------------------

    We leaned into shade
    you and I.

    Me against you.
    You against tree.
    Tree against day.

    As you read these words,

“Sat we two, one another’s best"

    had you seen my eyes,
you would have seen my heart
    fully splayed.

    But you continued on
    from your tattered book
    while I lay my quieted
    hand in yours.

Ah ... That is a fine love poem, what is to criticize? I just enjoy your verse.

You kinda write in visual imagery and even stills, like a photographer. I was wondering what you would feel like if you suddenly got an ambition for a long poem, a major project not so personal but important anyway. I felt you might start putting together a big picture! Like a painting.

    Must run in your family!
