addendum to Runes journal of 6/28/2014

Said the sea to the shore “you don’t love me anymore
All the good times seem like long forgotten chores
While sunshine sucks my waters making rain
I’ll visit other shores where I have lain
Make trees and grass and flowers grow again
Make harmony with clouds the skys I lend
Yet your sandy walk I will forever tend
Though you forget it’s time itself I bend”

Said the shore to the sea “you truly take me wrong
We will touch throughout eternity in song
Though moonlight is the mate for which I long
We’ll touch your tides like members of your tong
Make swirling currents beautiful and strong
For time is but the mask where we belong”

Said the sea to the shore “take comfort in my lust
For I turn even iron and steel to rust
Like the oceans of night’s sky I will remain
To touch your soul with yet a new refrain
That we may yet be lovers once again”

I hope you're not gone for two years and more again. I miss you already.

Hi Bruce me again in response to your response to my comment on your post. :) You made a passing reference to
the oceans of night's sky in the last verse but I took the poem itself to be about the sea and shore, not about the ocean's of night's sky. Sorry if I misunderstood what you were saying.
Which are the oceans of night's sky, and which are the shores do you think? :) ~C

      Hi Bruce
I guess I don't need to know what this is referring to to enjoy it. Yes lust seems to be the mot du jour. It's kind of an honest word I think. Interesting concept, the shore and the ocean as lovers--one a little reluctant by the sounds of it. But I wonder how the ocean bends time?
    cheers, Chris

      "your"?

Deja vu! I just went from Ponykeeper who just moved "lust" into where "ice" used to be. I did mention that I would never criticize lust.

I like these major entities conversing. It seems as though they must have been doing so for a very long time indeed. This has a Carroll sort of ring to it, Walrus and Carpenter sort of thing. And then there's the common element at work.

"Though moonlight is the mate for which I long" - fav

    sucks my waters
other shores where I have lain
    it’s time itself I bend

Quite sexy stuff for geographic features. ;)
