    dotsBalin: My Herodots

    Skipping rocks.
Something that simple makes me cry.
Something that simple makes me smile.
All because that was our thing.

    Hiding in the brush.
    Reminds me of your laugh.
    Reminds me of your smile.
All because you couldn't hold it in.

    Eating cereal.
I can hear your brothers jokes.
I can hear your grunts of anger.
All because you couldn't eat with your mouth shut.

    Driving in the rain.
Makes me feel your hand on my shoulder.
Makes me look at the passenger seat.
All because you made me feel stronger.

    Keeping my promise.
    Keeps me from falling apart.
Keeps me from crying on the spot.
All because you trusted me of all people.

    Trying to be happy.
All because you wouldn't stand to see me sad.
All because you wouldn't stand to see me angry.
All because you are my hero.

I could literally put myself into your place as I read this. I- as an ungrateful son, brother, nephew and even uncle- whom has never lost a family member dear to heart in ever, could feel the dread, the sense of loss...needless to say, this poem is nonetheless an impact to those who know what it is to love.
Loved it; your manner in expression speaks of so much talent and effortless charismatic skill.
