    -------------------------------------------

Seeing things for the last time
Things that tear, burn or break
Opening new eyes to old sights
    Waiting for the taunting ache

Back to reality where it hurts
    The walls staring through me
    I'm torn, burned and broken
But what's this that I can see

    Up the rusty spiral stairs
    Beyond the 4 cornering walls
    Across the splintered floorboards
    The secret window calls

    Looking at another world
    Bright colors beyond belief
Then a gray cloud drifts over
A voice tells me to leave

Who is it but a monster
The one to make me feel
    All of these bad feelings
That are just way too real

Do whatever you want to me
    Hurt me every single day
Just give me my secret window
    And then I'll be okay

What's that physics now says, nothing takes shape until you pay it attention? Or something like that. Some windows are also doors, so some may say. Or something like that.

    Nice work.

A window is an appropriate place to expect one to put onee hopes for angiven situation. Escape of any kind is grand but I like your particular voice here in this piece.

Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed reading.
