dotsThe Snail And The Skink (Doormats)dots
    -------------------------------------------

"It's not what you think." Said the snail to the skink
Who's shell was well worn out and bruised
The skink had replied, "What ever do you mean?"
And the snail had explained he was used

"I'm sorry to hear that." Said the skink to the snail
She continued, "Is there something I can do?"
The snail answered back with a soft content smile
"Well, I think I could use a great friend like you."

The skink smiled back, finally feeling wanted
She looked at the snail's shell and laughed
"What is so funny?" The snail asked the skink
She said, "I'm sorry, but we're both doormats."

The snail looked puzzled and didn't understand
He asked the skink, "What does that even mean?"
She said, "It means we get walked on by others."
The snail asked, "Well how ever could this be?"

The skink explained, "Inside we're hurt and scared."
She continued, "However, I can surly help you.
But just please promise me this one thing?
You will do whatever you can to help me too."

The snail replied, "I can promise you that.
But you must promise me something too.
I already love you, and if you love me,
Please do promise to forever love me too."
