Description:

What's Beyond

Standing on the edge of a cliff, looking down at everything that's already fallen.
Watching more things fall and crash, as I endlessly hesitate to fall along with it all.
Inching backwards or forwards, depending on the intensity of my emotions.
And when I feel like I want to die, I turn around and look at what's behind me.
Which is a foggy mess of dirt and ash, from what has been crumbling for what seems like eternity.
Behind the fog there's an unorganized crowd of dark matter. Beyond that is several stone walls crawling with snakes, and a steel cage calling my name as if it were my best friend.
When it's just a deceiving taunt from creatures luring me into their trap.
What's beyond that, I don't really know.
So I stand on the edge of the cliff.
Never wanting to travel to that cage again.
The edge of the cliff is my home.
While I wish I knew what was beyond those taunting creatures who had captured me many times, I'm too scared to face them.
All I have is what is still crumbling, what is still falling, what is going to fall soon.
Which all turns to ash and adds to the fog.
So I'm forced closer to the edge of the cliff.
The way I feel, the pain, the suffering... pushes me closer and closer.
Looking back at nothingness, I cry.
And as I cross my arms and get ready to fall back, something always stops me.
I feel like I don't know what it is.
But, maybe I do...
