    dotsDare to Writedots
    -------------------------------------------

Dare I dream what’s not been done?
Have dreams brighter than the sun?
Dare I think what’s not been thought?
    What has dreaming ever brought?

    Everything great or ambitious.
    Every victory propitious
    Every dish that is delicious
    every book, true or fictitious.

Dare I dream it, dare I write
words that paint and words that fight,
    words, like fiery bombshells, hurled-
words that could ignite the world.

Dare I journey to the stars?
Walk upon the dust of Mars?
Dare I paint the stars anew
hung from trees like silver dew.

    Exploding different colored light
    casting wishes in the night,
    to a soaring silver sea
    of ideas fiery and new.

Dare I with black, bleeding ink
make some reader pause and think?
Dare I dream what is absurd?
Dare I write a single word.

This is great beat poetry. The rhythm and stresses make the reader want to hear it in spoken form. Like all real writers, you will write whatever your emotions and psyche drives you to write. Sometimes it's really good and sometimes we look back and think "what was I thinking" but its never wrong. it just is.

This was magnificent. Fluid flow and rhymes. The meaning is searching and profound. I also say DARE to do whatever your heart desires (provided it is light and positive!). Dare to be more open, rebellious, vulnerable, experimental with your words. Life is too short!

I would suggest you write what you will. In it's good for your outrageous indignation and can lead to pugnacious audacity. Seriously, why worry about the reaction (unless of course your writing about someone you did or plan to murder etc.), like Socrates said "know thyself". Then again one of the things about purveying written words is there is usually a whole complex matrix of possible interpretations to contend, this can be scary!!

Think Feedback more than Compliments :: [ Guidelines ]

    1. Be honest.
    2. Try not to give only compliments.
    3. How did it make you feel?
    4. Why did it make you feel that way?
    5. Which parts?
    6. What distracted from the piece?
    7. What was unclear?
    8. What does it remind you of?
    9. How could it be improved?
    10. What would you have done differently?
    11. What was your interpretation of it?
    12. Does it feel original?
