    Description:
North-eastern New South Wales, Australia ... a highland town planted with European trees ... the native birds have learned to eat their seeds! But the oaks and the willows have Spring at different times. The black sheep-dog is true: it's a Kelpie cross.

    dotsThree sky haikudots
    -------------------------------------------

    Autumn's tall poplars

launching their leaves on the wind -

    sky blue, white and gold

    A cloud of white wings:

    cockatoos screaming at dusk

    from the cold, clean sky.

    Small clouds, grey and white,

sheep all over a bare hill,

    black dog - looking up.

this was such a pleasurable read. eloquent and to the point as a good (or good three) hiaku should be. you managed to paint a detailed picture with few words. excellent job.

there is something about sky and how one can interact with it. i enjoy very much how your trees, birds and black dog do (which is a keeper for sure, that one). you do well here. snapshots; postcards, even. enjoyable they be. (insert smile here.) keeping looking up. it's big and small all at once.

I adore this. As one of the many who used to mis-use the art of haiku, I'm incredibly satisfied that someone finally utilize it in its initial function.
One of my favorite seasonal pieces, thank you for sharing.
