dotsLike a thief in the nightdots
    -------------------------------------------

He will come like a thief in the night
    He crept into my heart
    As a thief,
Come in the darkest of nights.
He came to take from me
    What I had made mine.
    I writhed in pain
    As He ripped it from
    My clutching, needy hands.
    First this, then that.
Then one day I stopped clinging
And too began to help in the clearing.
"Here take this,” said I, “and that.”
Placing more and more within His hands.
I just couldn't give it to Him quick enough!
Until I had given Him everything,
    Willingly, eagerly.
And then one day I looked around my emptied house
and saw I had given Him nothing.
    Nothing of value.
    And in its place,
    Everything.
Blessed is the thief, who comes in the night.

Once again, very vivid, and your phrasing and choice of words expressing your theif of the night are very good indeed.
