    dotsThe Power of the Winddots

    The Power of the Wind
    Does a leaf blow along
    without wind?
Is it the leaf doing the moving?
No, ’tis the wind that moves the leaf
    from here to there.
Do you see the leaf being blown
    and think,
    "Oh how wonderful is that leaf;
it has such power to move itself."?
    You say,
"How strong the Wind is today!"
When there are two winds blowing in you at the same time
    Which one do you choose?
Not the one that would have make something of yourself,
But the True Wind of course.

I just googled True Wind and this made me laugh...

"If an instrument for measuring the speed and direction of the wind is mounted on shore then the readings obtained are those of the speed and direction of the true wind. If we take this same instrument, and mount it on a boat that is moving through the water, then the readings will be quite different from those taken on shore. These readings show the speed and direction of the apparent wind relative to the boat. I have used the term "relative to" because the apparent wind is applicable only to the particular boat we are looking at and is not the same for other boats sailing in the same area." http://deniswee.net/ApparentWind/trueapp.htm

How funny. Best we take our measurements with our feet firmly planted on the Shore then!

This is another interesting piece, that is my best observation. I can see why the definition made you laugh. Thanks again for sharing.
