    dotsDeath and Lifedots
    -------------------------------------------

What I thought was my birth
    Was also a death,
I died to awareness of Truth,
I died to awareness of Oneness,
I died to awareness of Light,
I died to awareness of Unconditional Love.

    As death comes
    It is also a birth.
    I am reborn into Truth,
    I am reborn into Oneness,
    I am reborn into Light,
I am reborn into Unconditional Love.

    When true death comes,
It will be the final curtain.
Not because it is the end,
But because death is the last veil
That will drop between His face and mine.
    And as that veil falls
I will be reunited with True Life.

    Only God will remain
For God is all there is
    And all there ever was.

This came out like liquid grace. I read it allowed. Death is the last veil. Gives me goosebumps. This was very encouraging. Praise God.

There is no greater truth than the fact that someday we will all die and face it! I like the way this is worded and it really got me thinking again. Into that deep place that I have pushed down for far too long...
I'm a simple person with simple values and beliefs and you touched that for me.. ummm..congratulations? (lol)

This verserform is the language and cadence of scripture. Are you allowed to write scripture? Is it better to complain about imperfection than to strive for a level of decency? Maybe only One has bitching rights!

You write that you came here without all those good things, so that your clues to their nature and existence are just two: scripture and folks' lives with which you interact.

It is a good poem because it combines argument and verseform, vocabulary and word-association and finds a climactic harmony of all its statements, in the last few lines.

That it is theology and therefore arguable all day and all night, you would have been brilliant to avoid but not many folk have such humility! Do you know Rumi? A huge ego who couldn't imagine that God could leave his life or anybody's for a split second but had little use for death ... whilst he lived!
