    To Folly

No master will they fathom yet
    those last among creation,
being first to disappoint the God
    Most High whose spirit calls.

The spirit is a whisper to
    a soul who ever listens,
    the boisterious will never feel
    such power which is His.

What pious man would thump a book
    he ever thought was Holy,
an evil gesture yields no love
    self-serving to the end.

When kingdoms clash the last shall be
the first to answer to Him,
"I know you not" the King shall say
    self-righteousness be damned!

It's from the right hand you'll see love
    it's given without measure,
the other is in darkness 'till
    the sword of judgement falls.

    Being humble and contrite
    a servant seeks his shaping,
    the obvious becomes more so
    when faith and prayer are.

And so I hope to part with you
    Folly my long time partner,
    Although we'll cling together long
who know's when I'll be called?

Hi Lloyd, I really appreciate this poem. I read a lot of theological books and these points keep cropping up. In what I read. It's interesting to read it in poetic form. And reminds me Anne Bradstreet or some of the other religious poets whose names I can't immediately place since it's been awhile since I've read them. It's nice to read stuff like this -kind of accountability and strength mixed. Good stuff.

Your boisterous killing me Lloyd. I love my frivolous frolic. I hope your not truly saying God doesn't allow ecstatic euphoria because I would surely be doomed.
