    dotsAutumn Smoke Lucid Dreams Elysium Fieldsdots
    -------------------------------------------

    Humanity billowing---forward like electric steam.
    Swirling---fears scalding the sky,
    screaming away into Heaven;
    light scarred the twilight---water,
    like scratches in vinyl.
    Forward---into the wind---into the night.
    Sounds of the stern wheels---passing by,
    relics of a simpler time;
    coal barges shift to a life declined.

    The trees rain ash---upon the streets,
    orange smears of bygone era---gone;
    rust bleeds---into bells of a forgotten ramble.
    Autumn smoke---fills the emptiness.
    Completing memories---illustrious illusions,
    mighty strikes against her breathless shame;
    naked---slipping into unconsciousness.
    These words will lie,
    reconfigured into a meaningless phrase;
    lucid dreams awake during the day.

    Derogated stutter---a mouth misinterpretation of,
    unconditional---restriction to faith in code;
    land line Churches---reaching for neglectful youth.
    Butcher block---meat tossed to the dogs.
    Scything our Elysium fields,
    dregs of cheap whiskey---all that remains.
