    I grieve with her
    and lament for her,
    a loss owned,
    as a share of her, departed

    Released from this mortal coil
    to begin anew
    the inevitable journey;
    a passage paid for long ago

    Emptiness remains abiding
    no words could assuage
    the ache that lingers
    filled in by remembrance

    I hope her solace
    remains in reflexive smiles
    of tender memories; knowledge of peace
    and when they will again, be together.

      "Break on through, break on through, to the other side", sang the popstar, while the rest of us decently remain on this side to mourn our loss.

    The popstar tried to break on through to the other side with heroin in a bathtub in Paris, and only succeeded in leaving this side for ever, while we are left with our grief with every breath. The price we pay for breath is grief, while the popstar neither breathes nor grieves.
