    we no longer burn bridges
and though we'd never need to
    cross back over them again

    we build new ones, upstream,
    up closer, so much closer
to the heart of our dreams

I like this perspective, freshly adapted in the form of poetry. Kudos. Everything I have read of yours has an heir of wisdom, talent, spontaneity and a unique flare. The imagery is nice and the subject is vague so that it is easy also for me to relate. Nice job, again.

I love the simplicity of this that is full of such deep thought and meaning. Burning bridges is a futile act, but one that the young do with abandoned. Wisdom tells us to leave those bridges and just make new connections closer to our hearts. I really have no technical changes to give you I like this as is. Jan
