    -------------------------------------------

    The night creeps in.
You don't want to make love.
    The baby's a sleep.
We just stare at the TV.
    My mind's asleep,
I miss who I use to be.
    Your heart wanders,
as we share the same bed, same sheets.
The same day, the same nights.
    The TV flickers.
Our eyes stare into the dark.
We share the same room, me and my wife
But we don't share the same life.

This hurts. Its hard it really is. The effort itself to keep alive a relationship between two people with two routines, by the end of the day you are both tired. Take that vacuum of time each night and think of all the things you can do to relate to one another. I can tell you from experience, a kiss that lasts five seconds longer, an unexpected gift, picture, text, note on the bathroom mirror, these are the things that give women that extra bit of energy at night to make intimacy happen. I look at my husband sometimes and I am so moved by him, his body, his manhood, and what do I do five out of seven nights about it? Not much. I love him, want him, need him and yet...i am exhausted. But again, the more I k ow he is thinking about me throuh out the day the more energy I have at night when the baby is asleep.
