    Poisoned Love
    Chapter 1: Heartbreak hotel.
It's dark. That smell. Denise peeked through her eyelids. The room was still dark. The satin sheets clung to her legs and she reached down. Wrapped around her legs were someone else's. Brown hair tickled her shaved legs. Ugh. She fought back the vomit and gently yanked herself from the mess of a human who laid on top of her. Standing up she took in the man. Not fat but not skinny. His beard touched his curly chest hair. She wasn't fond of hairy men. Shower first, then she could figure out how to remove the man from her bed. Stumbling to her miniscule bathroom, she pulled her fuzzy robe off the hook. The warm water hit her breast and she submerged herself under the water to turn the heat up. She wouldn't admit but it felt nice to have the water hit her butt. She rested in the water raking her long fingers through her Blond curls. soap trailed down her back and traveled down her long legs. She felt relaxed enough to deal with sleeping man. turning off the boiling water, she hesitated. Her robe was great for lounging and comfort but the shortness of it barely covered her. The last thing she wanted was to rekindle anything with the stranger. Hopefully he was tired out and would leave without fuss. Denise poked her head out and stared across the dark room. The bed was empty. She pressed against the robe and tiptoed out of the bathroom. past her queen size waterbed and into her crowed kitchen. The cup of coffee she had sit aside last night was missing. "Fuck. I like that cup." and with that she fell to the ground in tears.
It was always the same for denise. Even if she despised the human, the sex was amazing. It was a longing in her that craved the touch of a man. of a woman. anything that fill the silence. But the feeling afterwards. After they went home to their wives or their lives, she felt empty and shallow. It would have to be replaced with the drugs she kept stashed on her vanity or the warmth of a hand pressed between her thighs.
"How was your weekend?" Karen asked. Denise glared above her cup of coffee. "well I lost my favorite cup and I met a sorority sister." Karen raised her eyebrows. "really? Did the sister steal it?" Denise stifled a giggle. "No some chewbacca looking guy." Karen's eyes widen. "two? seriously denise?!" Denise felt flustered. "What's wrong with two? I am single." "that doesn't mean you have to sleep with the world." Denise had been coming to see karen for about two years. At first she had tried to corrupt karen by showing up to her meeting naked except for a parka. she had laid down on the couch and removed her coat. Karen sighed and got up. Denise had thought karen was coming her way but karen had went to the other side of the room and grabbed a blanket from one of her couches. "Cover up." was all she said. Denise stared at Karen right now. She was focusing on her when Karen turned her violet eyes back on her. " Why do you sleep with these people?" "Well I was wasted with the guy and I thought the girl was hot." Denise answered not lowering her eyes. She liked to play with karen. She would make eye contact and see how uncomfortable she could make karen. But it was hard. Karen rarely got uncomfortable. Only until Denise brought up her husband. Then karen would raise her eyebrows and her voice and state that if denise felt like not being cooperative, she could leave. So denise tried not to play the husband card. "I dont know K. I feel like I want them. I want to feel someone there." The slight smirk on her mouth meant Karen knew Denise was just saying what she thought she wanted to hear. "I honestly don't know." Karen uncrossed her tan legs. " I wanted to feel the girl. I wanted to know her." " and?" karen questioned. " and what? I met her, I fucked her and she left." Karen reached under her desk and pulled out a card. Heavenly's touch was scrolled across the top. "I think this place might help." and handed the card to denise. "seriously k? I'm not that messed up." "You have drugs in your system. I know for a fact you are high right now. You sleep with random people constantly and you haven't the slightest idea who they are and honestly, I'm worried about you." Denise sighed. "If I do this, will you think about dating me?" Karen rolled her eyes. "Go."

Denise packed her leopard bag. No tank tops, no tight jeans. No drugs. no alcohol. Just no. Since most of what Denise owned was apparently forbidden, she would have to settle for her lounge clothes. The redhead sat down on her bed. "When are you leaving?" "soon sugar." and denise tossed her robe into the the bag. " You going to be gone long?" the girl's blue eyes searched denise's face. "Don't know sweetheart." Denise rolled her eyes at how incredibly annoying this girl was. Perhaps if she fucked the girl maybe she would shut up. But there was no time. "Alright honey, we got to go." The girl blinked and stood up. Denise pushed her towards the door. "You'll call me right?" seriously? Denise thought. seriously?!! "Sure girl." and denise kissed her rosy lips. "bye sugar."

"put all your jewelry in the box. place your bag over here. go down the hall and strip. "the woman whose bronze name tag said Shirley escorted Denise down the peach hallway. "Really?" Denise pulled her arm away from the shirley's grasp. "We need to do a cavity check. make sure you're not sneaking anything in." "like I'm sticking anything up my ass." denise replied. "You'd be surprise hun." and Shirley closed the door.
I hate white. Denise thought as she sat in an uncomfortable leather chair. The walls were too white. The type of white that would be a constant reminder she wasn't home. Denise hated being alone. It left her with the thoughts she fought so hard to avoid. Even now, she felt them slowly creep into her mind and sluggishly start to take a toll. Avoidance was key but those white walls made it hard for Denise to picture herself somewhere else. Where the fuck was the doctor? She stood up and made her way across the room ,tracing her fingers along the desk she took in the multiple photos framed in gaudy gold. Smiling families with picture prefect moments captured. I won't let this get to me. I won't let him get to me. Denise forced the pesky thoughts to recoil and vaporize. Instead she focused on her soon to be new therapist. Dr. Theodore Hanson was craved into a plate which sat neatly in the center surrounded by what Denise gathered to be pictures of his wife& kids. Dr. Ted was not her type. Then again most of the men she slept with weren't her type. It wasn't his age that bothered her. She had slept with older. It was the proud and noble way he stood in the photos. Like he knew he was the gift to the world. She never liked cocky men. Ironically. She preferred men who treated her like what she was doing was a huge sacrifice on her behalf. The guys who probably stilled lived at home. The guys who spent hours playing video games and whose only real relationships were with the porno sites favorited on their computers. Those guys were like catnip for her. They were easy. There wasn't any rules. She didn't even have to try. She would bat her eyelashes and perk up her chest. Guys like them would cave instantly. But proud guys were tough. They knew they were cute and that often lead to them thinking she needed to impress them. Which Denise despised. "Hello...Ms. Kingsley.I'm Dr. Hanson." A tall man with brown curls framing his jawline and tortoise shell glasses said as the heavy oak door swung close behind him. His brown eyes were light and reminded her of honey. "Uh huh" Denise sputtered out and avoided touching his extended hand. He was gorgeous but she immediately recognized the strength and pride he possessed. He flashed what Denise figured he thought was his winning smile. " Please to meet you doc. Now can you please tell how long do I have to be in this hellhole before I'm cured enough to leave?"
A glint of surprise flashes across his flawless face but he recovered rather quickly. " Your last therapist said you would be blunt. I didn't know how blunt however. As of your stay, you checked yourself in but in order for you to leave, we need to see progress."
