The moon, breaking free from the day
must serve the night – prisoner of the sky
Kept only by light, in pieces & phases
Yet dominion is hers, for her time
    new to full
She reflects all that is given
    Slave and Master
Divine temptress – wax and wane
    Children shall worship her
so must we all, in our own way
    The oceans will bow
coming in – coming out: it's relative
    Breathless and spent
    covered with her glow
    As lovers should be...

the moon truly doesn't get old, does she. I write about her and mention in so many of my poems. She is my mid-night mistress and my sun.

I really like this write. Its hefty written and has some really cool lines.

    well, done.

The first two lines are excellent and made me think this could easily be made into a rhyming poem.

The moon breaks free from the day:
In pieces and phases she serves the night
O'er bountiful oceans she holds sway
A prisoner of the sky, kept only by light...

Writing about (and looking at) the moon never gets old.
