    dotsIt's not in the Way...dots
    -------------------------------------------

It’s not in the way I spin my speech
Nor in the way my tongue twizzles behind my teeth
But in the way your flecked eyes move me to sing your praise
Among the stars and bow to kiss the mound of dirt beneath your feet

It’s not in the way I rise to protect you
Nor in the way my blood thrashes through my veins
But in the way your olive body calls unto mine to cover you
Among the arrows and rise up to meet your lips beyond the moon

It’s not in the way I hold your hips
Nor in the way my fingers discover your cadence
But in the way your lithe legs unfold in my palms as pearls
Among the shore and leads me to the oyster amidst your thighs

It’s not in the way I bite your saltiness
Nor in the way my mouth expands to savor you
But in the way your moist poppy-lips unfurl with vengeance
Among the wilderness of my face and scorches the back of my throat

It’s not in the way I whisper Francis
Nor in the way my jaw opens to spit K- I -T –A to the tangled wind
But in the way your touch scribbles epiphanies
Among the curves in my chest and dissolves in me like autumn

It’s not in all ways I thought to love you
But in all the ways I hadn’t-
