    dotsWaning Moon dots

The stars fell Baroque over the
Waning moon as I sipped evening from her lips

    Her eyes expanded
As constellations and revolved in mine--                    she taught me of love that night

Of how even we can dissolve
Like the moon being licked from our nakedness

But I wouldn’t listen; I didn’t want to listen-                         I just lied there amazed at
Her abdomen; it was divine; her navel was the universe                    and

The stars exhaled with each wave of breath-
I was allured by the flare that lied in the shade of her ribs

It reminded me of the moonflower that refuses to spread               her white wings
But beneath the cascade of moonlight- it gave me hope

    In bloodshed-

A boldness in the battlement           of           evening

And so the stars faded into sparrows
and the black of night into the white of day
the sea swelled and the shore fell

    Around our ankles
As I pressed my mouth to her labial lips to sip the sun
