Description:

The Widow Sandman thanks you for your condolences.

Introducing!: Mrs. Sandman

Lately, my memories are in disarray.
Fading visages of forgotten yesterdays

I wander aimless in permanent fugue
Reliving endless moments of De ja Vu

As if I'm remembering tomrrows
imprinted into my bone marrow

The significance of the clock is gone
Time just keeps going on and on and on..

Time will keep going on. This read brought me back to a place in my own life where I felt captive of the yesterdays...That’s what I felt through your poem, captivity. Locked in by a loss it feels you can get trapped within yourself looking for that one comfort that is no longer there...Even more chilling is the time that flys by. As you stated the significance of lost time on the clock. It scares me to look at how many years it took me to crawl out of my own wreckage...it’s aged me that’s for sure...I hope that its sentiment that you find through your own tribulations...wonderful write...I look forward to reading more from you

Have you ever seen the movie "Blue Velvet"? There's a scene where Dean Stockwell's character (Ben) lip syncs to "In Dreams"...it's an odd, but memorable scene. As Dean continues to sing, Dennis Hopper becomes noticeably agitated. He's more than a little psychotic in his role as Frank...so maybe agitated isn't the right word. Anyway...

A candy-colored clown they call the sandman
Tiptoes to my room every night
Just to sprinkle stardust and to whisper
"Go to sleep. Everything is all right."

I close my eyes, Then I drift away
Into the magic night. I softly say
A silent prayer like dreamers do.
Then I fall asleep to dream My dreams of you.

In dreams I walk with you. In dreams I talk to you.
In dreams you're mine. All of the time we're together
In dreams, In dreams.

But just before the dawn, I awake and find you gone.
I can't help it, I can't help it, if I cry.
I remember that you said goodbye.

It's too bad that all these things, Can only happen in my dreams
Only in dreams In beautiful dreams.

For some reason, your poem took me to Blue Velvet, and then to In Dreams. It's funny how the mind takes your from one thought to the next - one time to another, all in milliseconds...

...but I wonder: what brought such sadness to your words? Just curious...

Thank you for sharing - and letting me whistle a tune...
