    -------------------------------------------

    Am I in first?
    Or last?
    Sometimes I just can't tell.
When I feel like I'm pulling away,
It turns out I'm standing still.

    Still there is nobody around,
    No other runners.
    Only voices,
But where are they coming from?
    Those trying to catch up?
Or those trying to keep me behind?

    Behind a wall.
When did the wall get here?
    Who built it?
Why is it only in my lane?
    Where is everyone?

    Everyone stops talking.
I can only hear my breathing.
It's become all I have left.
What if that stopped as well?
    Then would people show up?

    Am I in first?
    Or last?
    Sometimes I just can't tell.
I've been here for so long i wonder,
    Does it matter anymore?
