Marcus stared at Leo through narrowed eyes, dumbfounded and angry. Shaking his head, he leaped from the loveseat and rushed to the door opening it wide.
"Get out," he said more calmly than he felt.
    "Let me explain.." Leo plead.
    "Get. Out."
"Marcus, please I have proof I'm not a loon."
    "GET OUT!! NOW!"
Leo stood, joining Marcus at the door. He knew he had botched the explanation, but he couldn't give up, he could fix this. Plan B.
"Let's take a walk in the park," he suggested.
"You come in here, dressed up like some ridiculous cowboy detective. Talking 'bout how you got heat stroke as a kid and that's why my girlfriend spontaneously combusted. And now you wanna take a walk with me in the park? Like you're not some escaped mental patient? Fuck you, Cowboy. Get out before I throw you out!"
Leo nodded his head in resignation and clapped Marcus on the shoulder. Instantly they were in Shade's Park, about mile away from Marcus' apartment. They stood facing each other in the bright sunshine. Marcus wobbly and weak-kneed collapsed before Leo had a chance to catch him. As he went down vomit spewed out his mouth and black dots circled his vision. His head his the pavement with a muffled thunk, he could feel the blood immediately trickling. Leo joined him on the ground as he pulled his shirt over his head, knocking off his hat as he did so.
"I'm so sorry, it's been so long. I forget that happens," he apologized while he tried to wipe away the coffee and stomach acid from Marcus' chin, neck, and chest. Marcus feebly tried to push him away, but the strain on his jellied muscles made him vomit again.
"Stay still for a minute. The pain and nausea will fade," Leo advised.
"Get.. Away from me." Marcus' voice was hoarse and dry. He attempted to sit up and was thrown back by the vertigo again. Though this time he managed not to spit up the last of his bile.
Leo sat next to him, determined to set right the fiasco he had created. Brow furrowed against the harsh sunshine, he remained quiet staring at Marcus, waiting for him to regain himself. The wait wasn't long. Marcus successfully sat up and rubbed his face vigorously with both hands. He slowly stood up, the black dots threatening to take him down again if he didn't stand still. He waited, then ran in the opposite direction of the park. His feet slapped hard against the pavement, each resounding slap echoing in his aching head. He ran faster, as if he could outrun the sickness as well as the Cowboy Sleuth. Marcus risked a quick glance over his shoulder to see if he was being pursued. Leo was no where to be found. Before Marcus could ponder his whereabouts, he slammed into what felt like a wall. He fell back and hit his head in almost the same spot. He looked up through blurry vision to see Leo standing above him, clean shirt and ten gallon hat replaced upon his person.
"What the fuck?" he exclaimed before passing out.
