    dotsNeither Here nor Theredots

Through the darkness your voice finds me.
It may have started out a scream, but by the time it reaches me, it is muted whisper
I know you are here, though I cannot feel you.
If I focus, squint, shake my head I can make out your fuzzy image.
Your distinct outline, but every other blink you are my monster.
Your hair is short, or long, mustache sparse, then full.
Two distinct scents meld, morph into something confusing, grotesque.
I can beg, reach out, desperately try to come back
But you are a world away, decades away, and I am lost
Her hazel eyes, always calmed me
Now they have made this true.
If there was a guarantee, some promise that you would get me back
If every time I was wrenched away you could pull me home
Then I could just rest here, hidden amongst the painted trees
I would wait peacefully rocking, waiting for my white knight
Ahh but this is no fairy tale. And there is no clock ticking
My mouth is agape, dead doll eyes.
earth shattering howl, if I had put leaves on my trees they would blow away
It may have started out a scream, but by the time it reaches you, it is muted whisper.
