The plum sky plumed like a peacock
    In gold and pink
Which smeared into the blue until it set purple
Over the beige remnants of summer

    Speckled over the hazel fields
    Are shards of Spring
A pinch of green, a pirouette of yellow, a hint of red
    Fragments in blackberry winter
Beckoning the blossoms to burst from the buds

    Here lies my heart
A lone blackberry gilded by the sun

    I offered it to you-
I placed it between your teeth
I marveled as it twizzled on your tongue

    Your mouth now stained
Your hibiscus lips now swaddled in purple
I cradled them with mine own

I picked the black vestiges from your teeth
I tried to stitch them together
To find a semblance of that blackberry

The mélange of purple and periwinkle
    Reminded me of that sunset

    Which plumed like a peacock
In gold and pink until it set purple in the horizon
