dotsI will call out your namedots

I will call out your name,
wildly, into the night wind howling
the darkness growing and all around me the sound of you blowing,
I will call out your name.

To the stars I will cry out
    a song for your madness,
a glimmering sadness I’ll wail and I’ll bellow
until I’ve heard the last note fade away.

I will cast them out, the words, and when they fail me
    the savage sounds,
the primal phonetic promises I’ve made in my heart
for your love, I will give them away to the dark

my very voice, too, a gift freely given
until the last notes have left me, and all
that remains is the silence we’ve long sought,
the silent-night wrong thoughts we’ve never forgiven nor forgotten
    flung far from this moment,
flung far from where we are

I will call out your name to the night and the moonlight,
to the stars and the cold air
hanging like shadows on my shoulders,
    until it all falls away.
I will call out your name.
