    dotsForgetting Youdots

    Don’t dare take the moon-

Snatching her for yourself like you’ve done my heart
Stuffing her deep into your linty skirt pocket
Like nothing more than a burnt penny

The space between us laments our absence

I am a quivering sparrow in your hands
    Your fingertips are my sustenance
    The song in your eyes
Fell into mine and rose in fire and revolution

I will sing to you in the evening
When the pines are most solemn
    And the foxes most austere

I will cling to you as the white sorrow clings to a wet stone
The way solitude silhouettes the daisy

    Unfurl the night-

The stars fall like pirouetting fireflies
    That perish at dawn
Their flame dissolving into the blue of day

I lost you in the oblivion of a bell
The infinite dissipation that resounds within all of us

“Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind”

    The forgetting of you-

every moment we held in time-
    every nuance between us-
