    I compare everyone to you.
    Constantly trying to replace
    the unreplaceable
    like somehow
    my brain thought
out of the 7 billion people in this world
    that someway, somewhere
    theres another just like you.
    That is not the case.
    Believe me
    I've looked far and wide,
    I've searched high and low
    for pieces of you,
for an essence of your presence,
for a soul to my solitude.
    That I willingly chose.
I convinced my mind you are damaged.
Your hands, too crippled to rearrange
the peices of my broken heart.
Like the love that we shared was nothing
but a page in an old book.
    Too tattered and worn down,
    not even fit for donation.
Oh how hard I've tried to focus
    so intently,
on all the tiny cracks that caved us in.
    Little did I know
    I could never repair
    the most important crack
    desecrating my feeble being,
    your smile.
So now as I look upon
    my soulless eyes,
    I wonder-
At what point did I figure,
    who I was,
    was not enough?

Quite the closing twist. Something like: I sold you short because it wasn’t going to work, so it must be my fault.
