dotsLak Luster and the Laughing Yakdots

There is dirt under these nails
    wear on this smile
    ache in the everyday muscle
    and cracks in the tiles
    my checkered thoughts do brain

To most I'm less, to some I'm more
my clothes are tight, my stomach round
my feet are sore from walking
on nothing but the edge of an age
with no room or peace for me

I laugh rare, and carry false
closer to the core and losing self
    pleasing few, and sowing felt
    because I'm feeling nothing
but, trust the memories were true
    and the truth, it helps.

day to day and step by step
running away in circles to find chasing
creature comforts and a stiff neck
closed doors and the sad sack
    world imbalanced
everything left is out of wack
and I'll never love Solitude again.
