dotsthe crossroads of truth and delusiondots

all these days spent in my head
    secrets seeping from my bed
could you help me get a clue
even then i'm sure to lose

    picky peter picked a pickle
shaved his heart down for the fickle
now he's numb and not so swift
learning not to give a shit

    thanks for all the inconvenience
    cameras watch the moving moment
    hopeless helpers stay in tune
    on and off the afternoon

thanks for the experience and keeping in touch
i just don't have the space to lay out much
moments are woven into the fabric of uncertainty
i'm doing my best while the neighbors drink their tea

this situation makes as much sense as my poetry
pitted against the greats for a century
i wouldn't stand a chance if i had to see
and say what i do definitively

    schizophrenic thoughts
against the logic of the clocks
    ticking time and counting down,
to the day that i get clowned
    by the grandest of conclusions
spitting me out like loud delusions
such a clever way to stall
the words are weeping on the walls

    regardless of the sentiment
i said there'd be no evidence
a deal we made when i was younger,
full of piss and arrogance and hunger

    now that i'm aware
    of my relationship with time
it seems like a fair delusion
    if an inevitability of mine

so i'm weighing out the thought
    and waiting on the clock
to tell me what is real
    and what is truly not

Thought provoking. I thought about offering some totally unqualified advice but then thought better of it.
