Description:

I'd call it my realization that I'm as yet still human.

Sunrise

Sunrise is a glorious thing
each day begins anew
to chase shadows, across the land
run shadows, run

Should one have such opportunity
greet the sunrise
share in the glory
cast away the shadows

My own shadow, however,
my part of all darkness
sneaks slowly into self
and pauses all too briefly

Although sunrise gloriously dispels the shadows I like to think that the shade in our own shadows is a comforting and almost eternal occasion.

  within our shadows
portraits of nature reveal
distortions from light

  My portion of darkness
my section
my darkness in all parts
my darkness which harks
the blitheness of my dark
my stake in this lark

being human is an imagination. It's just a way we relate to our experience. but your humanity and my humanity are about as similar as our shadows. and yet our shadows hide such depths of differences.

i suppose your realization is perfectly valid. we're bound to the human condition. the best anyone can do a shift around variables, but the equation remains the same. ever unbalanced.
