Demna

What is there left except

acrid farewells, blessing or damning
distances – I never could quite tell
for sure, and now, she cries, Genius, -
A breath ripping oceans, but I still don’t quite see it:
Unbearable invention compressing beauty
escapes mortality. So where is that river
to plunge my feet into, and cross
without deference?

The beauty of fairy tales is often found in the moral of the story. Sometimes it takes bare innocence to suggest that the King has no clothes? Still, it is all a matter of taste as much as it is marketing, IMHO. Lady Godiva, certainly a heroic legend in her own time, did it right.

I appreciate that your work allows or even demands that the reader ponder and participate, like any truly good art. If the message received is not exactly what was intended, you know the reader at least likes to think he or she has it figured out... at least on a subjective level. Thanks!
