    A clean white, collared shirt,
    creased dress slacks laid out
    with special care.

    Heat rises up slowly,
as the contents are spread out
    upon the newly paved surface.

The final seconds until the buzzer,
a quick dribble, a big leap,
    and a crowd watches anxiously.

    Crushing and churning,
    each grape surrenders its best.
In time new wine will sparkle.

Beneath the surface, lumps of carbon
    lie dormant for an eternity,
    until unearthed to yield diamonds.

Oooh! I liked the varied images you laid out and how it all comes out together in the end. What normally happens to me is that I crack but sometimes yeah! there's a diamond to behold. Very cool when that happens. Very nice write.

      very interesting.

    made me think what else:

    - an interviewer poses difficult questions to expose the truth
    - a person exercising lays down on a bench, grabs onto a bar and pushes with all of their might
