Description:
This isn't about music! It was inspired by music, like alot of my writing, but it is about something greater than that. See if you can find the double meanings.

This would be better if read by some over-dramatic poet in a smoky coffeehouse, with a guy with dreads pounding on a few small bongos! That's how I see it read. :)

This is Living dots

Vibrating bass,
pounding drums,
screaming grinding voice
calling me alive,
stirring my senses,
making everything-
even breath-
tangible.

Pinpoint shocks
prick
all over arms,
hands, feet,
face.
Currents of electricity
run through veins,
course through legs,
torso, lips,
eyes.

Stars above and fires below
scream their banshee cry.
Then overwhelming static,
whooshing
burning through our ears,
and life
comes to a stop.
Stillness.
Complete silence.

grinding to the forces that be.

i love music, one of the best therapeutic remedies known to man...no matter what the feeling...music can fit like a glove and comfort/cover the soul.

  that was good, it reminded me of jesse bernstein, but not in the way it was written more in what it was saying. anyways that was good, so keep on rocking ([censored] i'm really sorry for that last line)

  This reminds me of the first band I saw at Ozzfest last Sunday, DevilDriver. We just rolled into the concert thing and they were playing and i had the tingles and felt the bass and double bass in my face. Too bad they are a crappy band and everyone else on 2nd stage.

The feeling did return though with Judas Priest, and I must say that it's such a good feeling that you get from being at concerts. Everything is so loud and you get so pumped up....ah! Hard to describe it kinda sux when the good tunes are over and all you are left with is a ticket stub and ringing ears.

  A rush. Pity how things never stay as good as it first started out to be. Hey, I heard a sound...sounds. Reggae? I must be miles away. Sean Paul? tsk, I love this guy. A rush again, but not the same one. Music is not your beat tho you say it is. Music is rhythm and life is a ...*definition in dictionary* Interesting piece. Ah, the pounding of the drums...again

  I hope I'm not seizing the obvious, but is it about the way you feel when you hear someone's voice? A man's voice? For men have deep, bass voices, and pounding drums could be your reeling ears.

I like the construction... I didn't think it was loud at all, in fact I thought it was very light, and that it seemed to weave through the stanzas, line dripping dropping into line... Interesting, and a good poem... you gotta let me know if I got it right!
