    she is the Voice
    she is the pure
who rejects the female and the male
who denies the mortals and the gods

    she is the angel
    who dropped the fiery sword
    at eden's burning gate
    and guards this pointless grove

    without that Voice
    the word dies
    in your mouth like dust

    what suttees are banished here
    they pass thru fire
    for her sake
    and quench their thirst
    with her cool fruit

    their bones rattle
    and tongues of flame
grow like tumours in their heads
no law but one, my sweet

    no soverignity but
    the ancestor tree
    and how they climb
    they cling like lemurs
    ti the branches
    a galaxy of speaking apes

    demanding life
    it's in the sap
    that ambrosian river
    flowing thru her veins
she has stayed here far too long

    they have no voice,
    they have no voice

yes. it's foreign. it's origionally a Sumerian word. just thought i'd clear it up, i know my poems tend to wander off linguistically and leave layreaders in the lurch. sorry 'bout that, everyone.
