In the intrest of fairness, a depressed poem
CBE -------------------------------------------
Sweet steel sting
as the point slides back
opening myself
watching
red rivers pour
out of body
collecting in a pool
on soil
an offering of my life
to my Mother
in the vain hope
she'll take it back.
Wow. I can't complain. This piece is very poignantly written, in an interesting but haunting sort of way. Since it's called CBE, it kinda leaves you with the idea that death, or wounding, is permanent - if it's talking about being "hurt" figuratively, it's like it make heal over but you'll always be left with that scar. Anyhoo I'm sure you didn't mean that but I got that out of it. . . and I guess poetry is about what the reader gets out of it, right? -Secret
