    Now I sit here,
With this pen and this pad,
    Pouring this ink,
From the thoughts that I had.
    Visions of triggers,
    That hate to be squeezed.
    Mirages of peace,
    And Serenity.
    Little red buttons,
    No longer pushed,
    But I read the headlines.
    Thereís G.W. Bush.
    The war over oil.
    Thereís bombings galore.
    The values have changed,
    From peace into war.
    Children are fighting.
    As young as eighteen.
So we can get cheap gasoline?
    I know itís stupid.
    Some people are blind.
If they canít see the info,
    They wonít see the lies.
    This propaganda,
    Theyíre trying to spread.
    Well these fallacies,
    Will not pierce this head.

First off, congratulations for writing a poem about this subject. This is actually the first political poem I post a comment on. Ok, HOW TRUE CAN THIS BEEE??! I give you credit for having the guts to say the truth when I know soooo many people are against your point of view (I'm not). Ok, to comment on your poem, you broke it up into lines, a good choice because this way, it gives more emphasis to your poem and it makes people pause just in the right places in order for the poem to have a better meaning. I like this part the most:
    The war over oil.

With this simple line, you give a controversial atmosphere to the whole poema and this is really interesting to people who would like to give arguments against. Anyway, good job for writing about something so important and that affect us all. Keep writing and nice pic you got there! lol take care

Man I'm sorry you feel this way about the president, I respect your views and I think you put together this poem very well, but really if you honestly think we are over there fighting for oil your nieve, My husband is over there in Irac right now I rarely get the chance to talk to him but I can tell you that it's words like these that effect our troops. My husband and the rest of the troops over there could care less about gas or oil they are there to liberate and rebuild a country that a very foolish man ruled for far to long. These troops believe in their commanding officer and stand beside his firm and resolute decision to wage the war on terror. this war has been going on for three years now, name me one oil refinery Bush has confiscated? you can't because you aren't there to see for yourself, you cannot solely depend on your information from the media, do yourself a favor and write a soldier over seas in Irac and ask him if he/she feels they are putting their life on the line for oil and gasoline.
Sorry, I just feel far too many young people are mislead. All that aside I do want to say your poem held a great flow, and I think you did good on the rhyming, better then I would...please don't be offended by this I just feel I need to defend why my husband is there, it's just an opinion

Yeah, Bush is a supereme idiot. Our president can't even pronounce the word "nuclear" properly, and he loves to fight stupid wars. Everytime I go abroad, I take so much flack for being American, and it's all because of Dubbyah.
