    Description:
~sigh~ I'm sad, but I actually edited this. I wrote this about this time last year, and EVERYONE loved it, my brothers especially. However, some people told me the ending was repetitive so I decided to change it. So tell me what you think.

    -------------------------------------------

Another frigid morning brings people together
    In clusters of angry tragedies
Fighting our way into the dim sunshine
Wrapped up in this commercialized armor
Everyone says, Look at me, Iím different
But in my eyes theyíre all the same

The last time we were unique, seems like never
Now weíre faced with ourselves as enemies
The same friends as foes this time
And a silence now will cause such a clamor
Unless we each confess on a stool independent
I say the season is to blame

Weíre furious for nothing, I suppose
Mistakes made today, tomorrow shamed into pain
Icy eyes glaring into those still honestly warmed
Chilling the world once loved, once alive
So we bundle up into something advertised as heated
Hide away in it with all our emotions

Where the idea came from, no one knows
It comes with a contraption to keep heads dry in rain
But the danger of veiling everything wasnít warned
From whom was such a plan connived?
To cause each loving soul to become cold and conceited
With false passion and angerís promotions

Sweatshirt generation, you confuse me so
Sometimes I hide away just like rest of you
But it all seems so crazy, so ridiculous
I donít understand why you enjoy looking the same
Lost in false warmth for the mindless squall
Our generation isnít much for success
And despite comfort weíre a cotton mess

Here inside my head, I still want to know
Why everyone wears the things you do
Itís hard and cold and makes all of you cantankerous
Losing your innocence, with dark words and irate fame
But I guess youíre not going to say anything at all
So Iím sorry for trying to make you confess
Sorry for trying to make you undress

this was.....napiform. (not really that means turnip shaped.) but it has a different meaning to me. there is a book called the gospel according to larry(which just so happens to use the word napiform) and so when i call something that (which i rarely ever do) it means its larry worthy... youd have to read the book (and maybe you have) to really understand. but it is good. really good.

TOTALLY AWESOME! I remember when you were wrting this last year. I read the second to last stanza, you showed it to once. Anyway, I think this is awesome. I think I know what you mean by it too. Not that sweatshirts in themselves are bad, but just using them as an analogy. Could be wrong, but that's what I think. Nice job, keep it up Katie!

hi. overall it's a very strong piece of writing, supported by a lot of emotion and then the true facts of life too.
I don't agree with everything that you say, but I understand the reasoning behind it... you probably wouldn't like me and would say that i'm part of the sweatshirt generation...
I guess I'm saying that the clothes we wear do not dictate the way that we think or the things that we do. I've never met one human being exactly like another. Yes, a lot of people want to act like other people, and a lot of people wield strong influence over others. But I wouldn't look at this generation and lose complete hope over it...
I dunno, because I really do know where you are coming from and I have an idea of what you see... i don't have an organized argument and I don't want you to think that I don't think this is a very real piece of work because I do. I LOVE
'Our generation isnít much for success
And despite comfort weíre a cotton mess'
    and then
'So Iím sorry for trying to make you confess
Sorry for trying to make you undress'
    then I'm out, be easy

This is a gorgeous piece and I can really see the feeling you had put behind it at the time of writing it. I too have at one time fallen guilty of wanting to be like everyone else, has not everyone wanted at some time to fit it? I know that I have, but now I am fine with who I am and who I want to be in the future. No matter what the people say, no matter what they do to me. Nothing can they do to cause me more pain that I put myself through. Struggling only to live, struggling to want to live anymore. The world is tough, and it is only getting worse. Overall, I adore this write and I would just like to say, keep up the great work!
