    dotsFive Hundred Stone Messiahsdots

    Here I am again
    Paralysed by mortal terror
    Shaking, shivering, breathless, quivering
    Where am I?
    What is this place?
I look, with growing dread, around me
    And survey my grotesque surroundings
I lie in the middle of a morbid crop
    Of stone-cold granite crosses
Each one bearing the hanging form
    Of a deformed saviour
Turning his bloodied face in my direction
    One thousand pierced hands
    Reaching out to me
    Five hundred stone Messiahs
Writhing in the ecstasy of agony
Each one dying for my sins
    Over and over again
A sliver of a waning moon casts its filmy luminosity
    Over this eerie nightmare
A living field of carved figures of the lord
Row upon gruesome row of petrified crucifixions in action
Five hundred tortured voices call to me
    From the depths of eternity
    A host, five hundred strong
    Wailing in an ancient tongue
    "Why hast thou forsaken me?"
I must escape from this horrible forest of screaming statues
Never to forget the sight, the sound of death in stone that night
I run and run and run and runů
Will I ever escape his echoes?

I like this part the most
    "And survey my grotesque surroundings
I lie in the middle of a morbid crop
Of stone-cold granite crosses". It's pretty intence, it reminded me of Judas!
This is a prefect example of why I love your writting.

whew! this one really takes my time... im kinda confused of this... all i can say is this might be an expression of guilt i supposed. coz you are trying to escape something from those shouting images and all. well that was an impressive expression of your emotion though i hav to really understand it.

Being an ex-catholic I can see how this morbid image can affect ones thoughts. It's the guilt thing they drum in us from birth. I thought you wrote this very well, the pace and imagery are very good. I had no trouble following the story of this poor catholic boy who is so very naughty that Jesus has to come and tell him to his face what a worthless piece of sh-t he is. Nice work!
