Hating the captain of the ship will not correct its course.

Make the font bigger!! Double Spacing Back to recent posts.

The greater minds of lesser men
still curse the God who set them free.
Our prideful pundits count to ten,
hurl hate-filled hand grenades with yen,
which detonate on count of three.

Like Swiss cheese or a worn-down sole,
    all temperments seem paper-thin.
In piecemeal fragments from the whole,
the stylus skips out of control
and bitterness pours from each pen.

A mutiny turns crew to cruel.
No buckets bail brine from the boat.
    Yet lashings dealt in ridicule,
will fan fierce flames like fiery fuel.
Abandon ship! or make her float.

I don't wanna abandon ship! I am gonna sail on with Jesus as my captain!
I haven't had much faith lately but after getting an uplifting email and listening to praise/worship music I am feeling the love of our Lord, and it's AWESOME!

I really enjoyed this piece; which I read as a commentary on social interaction...especially in governance or leadership.
'We must all stand together or we will surely all hang together.' I hope I got Mr. Franklin's words correct...I think the meaning is clear; that we are all in the same boat, and regardless of who claims to be the captain, its ultimately up to each of us to do what we can to keep the boat afloat and on course.
Thanks for a thought provoking read!
    Happy Turkey Day..gobble gobble!

This is a pretty interesting take on whats happening in our country right now. The actions of those in charge often cause unrest within the ranks of the followers. Once again we find our nation torn in two because of a war with another nation. Sometimes I look at the news and scream, "if you don't like it, get out" but at the same time, I realize what an evil thing war is, though, unfortunately, we are who we are, and as long as we are human, war will be a fact of life. I'm not sure I got the point you intended to put across, but thats what I got out of it. Sorry if I butchered it, .
    Good write,
